Baptism Committee

The Baptism Committee is charged with taking care of all the details relating to the actual mechanics of the baptism service.
  1. Maintenance and care for all of the items related to baptism including the baptism pool, plumbing, robes (if used), etc. Keeping all equipment in safe and efficient working order.

  2. Setting up for the baptism event itself such as filling the pool, adjusting the temperature of the water, and providing towels and robes (if used).

  3. Choosing a remote location for the baptism service (such as a pool, lake, or seashore) if needed.

  4. Informing the baptism candidates well in advance of the service of time, meeting place, and what to bring.

  5. Helping the pastor and candidates during the baptism service itself. This includes providing dressing rooms, robes (if used), and towels.

  6. Cleaning up after the baptism service, and performing any other duties as assigned to implement baptism in the most effective and Christ-honoring way.

  7. In conjunction with the Pastor and Prayer Coordinator, plan a meeting between the baptism candidates and pastor shortly before the Baptism Celebration Event as a time of prayer and final instructions.
